Effective February 6th 2015, the waitlist for underage applicants will be closed due to the overwhelming response.

Washington Square Co-op apartment sits in a beautiful park like setting with over five acres of beautifully landscaped lawn. The co-op has fourteen stories and has 238 one bedroom apartments. Washington Square Co-op is like many of the CSI Support & Development co-ops having been awarded “A Community of Quality” certificate in April 2010 by the National Affordable Housing management Association.

Washington Square Co-op Apartments does not allow smoking in any common areas, and within 25 feet of the building.

Through the generous hands of the TDF Foundation, Washington Square Co-op has been awarded a grant in the form of a brand new computer lab. (See picture at right.) Five state of the art Dell computers are completely loaded with Windows Microsoft 8 and Windows office 2013. Several members have sat at the computer for the first time in their lives and have just opened the door to a whole new technological world.

Resident members have a choice of many activities from being voted into office to assist in the democratically controlled daily business of the co-op to just enjoying the leisurely slow daily living in their apartments. In the evenings, group gatherings are set up and by a volunteer activities committee for meals, game nights, bingo nights, movie nights, and any other suggestion provided by the resident members. Washington Square now has two full time Service Coordinators to assist the members with problems and to help the members live a long and comfortable life at Washington Square.

Washington Square Co-op is located near downtown Kalamazoo. The co-op is walking distance to the farmers market, the Edison neighborhood library, and Bronson Hospital is less than two miles from the co-op.
