Diane Smith, Development Manager
Diane has been with the organization since 1996. She has worked in CSI’s development department during her entire tenure with the company. Her duties include site acquisition & development, project management, finance, and budgeting. While at CSI, she has contributed to the development of 19 new CSI co-ops, totaling 1,295 units. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, with an Economics minor from the Indiana University School of Business. Diane is a member of the Oakland County Senior Advisory Council to the County Executive, her local Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Urban Land Institute. Her interests include golfing, yoga, reading, and watching her children’s sports.
Meghan Ryan-Akelis, Assistant Development Manager
Meghan has been with the organization since 2002. Before this position she was a senior accountant at CSI. Meghan received her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Michigan University and a post bachelor’s certificate in non-profit studies from Wayne State University. Outside of CSI, Meghan volunteers at her church and has taken classes on a variety of topics from tap dancing to real estate law. She enjoys visiting with family and friends or just hanging out with her husband, Ken, discovering interesting places in Michigan.
Scooter Monroe, Development Manager
From our Maryland region, Scooter has been with the organization since 2008. Before this position he served as a co-op liaison. Scooter earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Maryland, where he was a four year letter winner in football. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute Baltimore (ULI), the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA), the Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers (HAND), the Maryland Asset Building and Community Development Network (Maryland ABCD Network) and the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition (MAHC). In his spare time he enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with his wife, family and friends.
